Bradley #Manning : Petition - Secretary of Defense - Grant UN Rapporteur on Torture Juan Mendez Access to Bradley Manning
PFC. Bradley Manning is accused of being the whistleblower responsible for releasing critical information about wrongdoings in the Iraq War to Wikileaks. According to journalists, his alleged actions helped motivate the democratic Arab Spring movements, shed light on secret corporate influence on our foreign policies, and most recently contributed to the Obama Administration agreeing to withdraw all U.S.troops from the failed occupation in Iraq.
But for 10 months, Manning was held in solitary confinement, cut off from nearly all human contact and even subjected to forced nudity.Bradley’s conditions were apparently so bad that the UN’s torture investigator asked the US Government for private access to Manning to find out if Manning was tortured. But the US wouldn’t let the UN official speak to Bradley without listening in and recording their meeting -- they’d even be able to use what Bradley said to the UN against him in court.
I served my country as a US Marine in Iraq. It pains me to think that fellow Marines were ordered to effectively torture a soldier who, by blowing the whistle on the killing of innocent civilians in Iraq, helped end that war.
Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta is new to the Pentagon, and wasn’t a part of his department’s earlier refusal to deny Juan Mendez, the UN Special Rapporteur for Torture, access to Bradley Manning. I’m asking Secretary Panetta to finally let Mendez have a private visit to Bradley Manning.

#Iraq #Manning #Wikileaks - Truth - Lies And Videotape
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXArnBJqM60&feature=youtu.be
http://LeakSource.wordpress.com
This hard-hitting film investigates the website that has given rise to one of the greatest controversies of the last decade.
WikiLeaks is an international non-profit organization that publishes submissions of private, secret, and classified media from anonymous news sources and news leaks. In late 2010, the website created controversy by publishing hundreds of thousands of classified U.S. Diplomatic cables and Military documents.
From the site's inception through to the current conspiracy allegations, this revealing documentary follows the story of the charismatic founder of the website and new enemy #1 of the Pentagon, Julian Assange.
Directed by award winning investigative reporters Paul Moreira and Luc Hermann from the French press agency Premières Lignes, the film travels to London, Washington, Reykjavik, and Paris to meet the WikiLeaks journalists and hackers who are fighting for transparency and are challenging the all-encompassing rules of Military secrecy.
The film includes an interview with former #2 and spokesperson of the WikiLeaks team Daniel Domscheit-Berg, before he opens his own whistleblowing website and publishes a novel about "his time at the world's most dangerous website". Daniel is now a "dissident" after quitting the company. His claim is that the organization is too centered on the figure of Julian Assange and that there was a rush to unleash big news stories in lieu of steadily building up the organization.

If Julian Assange can be silenced, so can every one of us. Stand up, speak up: for him, for yourself, for all of us. Before it's too late.

#IRAQ :Bradley #Manning #Whistleblowers In Washington ? - Fear The Silence NOT The Noise
Punish the Whistleblowers
The Obama administration has already charged more people—six—under the Espionage Act for alleged mishandling of classified information than all past presidencies combined. (Prior to Obama, there were only three such cases in American history.)
Kiriakou, in particular, is accused of giving information about the CIA’s torture programs to reporters two years ago. Like the other five whistleblowers, he has been charged under the draconian World War I-era Espionage Act.
That Act has a sordid history, having once been used against the government’s political opponents. Targets included labor leaders and radicals like Eugene V. Debs, Bill Haywood, Philip Randolph, Victor Berger, John Reed, Max Eastman, and Emma Goldman. Debs, a union leader and socialist candidate for the presidency, was, in fact, sentenced to 10 years in jail for a speech attacking the Espionage Act itself. The Nixon administration infamously (and unsuccessfully) invoked the Act to bar the New York Times from continuing to publish the classified Pentagon Papers...read more

#IRAQ : #Manning #Wikileaks - #Obama's Underserved Nobel Peace Prize May Be Revoked
Will an investigation of the Nobel Peace Prize committee lead to a revocation of President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize of 2009? That is a good question as a formal inquiry has begun into the way the committee chooses its winners. The board of inquiry does have the authority to revoke Obama’s award, although that is unlikely, the Associated Press reported.
The Peace Prize is awarded by a group in Norway. Swedish committees decide the other prizes. The Norwegians have drifted from the original intent of the Peace Prize...read more

Bradley #Manning : #OBAMA 2012 - May The FARCE Be With You
by Allen L Roland
In four years, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Barack Obama, the agent of hope and change, has become the prince of darkness and his presidency has become a farce ~ an absurdly futile exercise in pretense and broken promises from a president who cloaks himself in armor and answers only to the global elite.
I am a former progressive Democrat, now a proud member of a vast army of Independents, who are fed up with a president who was obviously selected by the global elite, and elected to maintain the status quo ~ and most certainly does not deserve another four years to deliver on the false promises he made four years ago.
I’m tired of being lied to, I’m tired of watching our liberties rapidly erode under the tattered banner of the War on Terror and I’m tired of watching and experiencing our constitutional right of public dissent being marginalized and suppressed in order to maintain an out of control and still unregulated Wall Street ~ as well as a rapidly expanding Prison Industrial complex and a growing militarized police state.
A recent Human Rights Watch report has revealed critical issues facing Americans today including severe poverty, child labor, overcrowded prisons and a flawed judicial system. Here are my recent brief comments on Press TV regarding these points along with US government tactics of suppressing citizen rights amid on going movements aimed at exposing the unequal distribution of wealth and power in government and business. And what does the establishment really fear? The answer is an empowered people armed with the truth! 3 minute video ...read more

Bradley #Manning :#Haditha -Anonymous Leaks Marine Corps Massacre Case (Updated)
The bombs keep dropping from Anonymous—first local cops, then the FBI, and now the Marine Corps: sensitive documents from 2005's Haditha Killings trial.
Anon doesn't think the Marine in charge should have gotten off so lightly. This is their payback.
Seven years ago, (then Sergeant) Frank Wuterich and several other marines he commanded killed 24 Iraqi citizens in Haditha, Iraq, in an apparent act of revenge for an unrelated IED strike.
Despite admitting to the killings, Wuterich just last week officially got off with only a charge of "negligent dereliction of duty." No jail time, no serious conviction whatsoever.
Now the law firm that defended Wuterich, Puckett and Faraj has been hit with Anonymous long internet arm of "justice." Their site has been hijacked, and a giant 3 GB trove of personal information pertaining to the case (and other matters) busted wide open by Anon:
So far, no promised torrent for the data has appeared on the Pirate Bay account Anonymous is pointing to, but that's sure to change any minute now.
Update: I placed a call to Puckett & Faraj, and they have no idea they've been hacked. Waiting for a call back.
Update 2: The firm's site is currently down.
Update 3: A source within Anonymous tells me all of today's strikes are indeed a coordinated effort.
Update 4: You can find a screencap of the original defacement and manifesto here.

We went ahead and fired off some shots of our own - at the servers and personal email accounts of Puckett & Faraj. We defaced their website and dumped nearly 3GB of private email messages belonging to Neal Puckett and Haytham Faraj. The contents of these email messages include detailed records, transcripts, testimony, trial evidence, and legal defense donation records pertaining to not only Frank Wuterich but also many other marines they have represented.Anonymous draws an immediate comparison to Bradley Manning, the soldier behind the Wikileaks Cablegate bonanza whose trial has been a pretty far cry from transparent—about as opaque as brig walls.
And to add a few layers of icing to this delicious caek, we got the usual boatloads of embarrassing personal information. How do you think the world will react when they find out Neal Puckett and his marine buddies have been making crude jokes about the incident where marines have been caught on video pissing
on dead bodies in Afghanistan? Or that he regularly corresponds with and receives funding from former marine Don Greenlaw who runs the racist blog http://snooper.wordpress.com? We believe it is time to release all of their private information and court evidence to the world and conduct a People's trial of our own.
Bradley Manning who was brave enough to risk his life and freedom to expose the truth about government corruption is threatened with life imprisonment.Unable to do anything about the Manning case, Anonymous will have to hope "epic ownage" is a decent replacement for activism and advocacy.
When justice cannot be found within the the confines of their crooked court systems, we must seek revenge on the streets and on the internet - and dealing out swift retaliation is something we are particularily good at. Worry not comrades, it's time to deliver some epic ownage.
So far, no promised torrent for the data has appeared on the Pirate Bay account Anonymous is pointing to, but that's sure to change any minute now.
